Joysree Subramanian, M.D., FIPP
Dr. Joysree Subramanian is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and
Interventional Pain Management Specialist practicing anesthesia & pain
management since 1999. Dr. Subramanian served as an Assistant
Professor at Louisiana State University Shreveport for four years and as
an Assistant Professor for over two years at University of Texas,
Southwestern Medical Center Dallas. She has the added qualification of
being a trained physician doing acupuncture.
Dr. Subramanian obtained her Medical Degree from Calcutta University in
1986. She was the best outgoing medical graduate and had several
honors and gold medals to her credit. She obtained her anesthesiology
training at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research,
Chandigarh. Dr. Subramanian completed her internship at Hospital of St.
Raphael’s New Haven (Yale University affiliate). She completed her
anesthesia residency at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia
University. She had her fellowship training in Interventional Pain
Management from Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio. She’s also a Fellow
of Interventional Pain Practice awarded by the World Institute of Pain.
Dr. Subramanian was a faculty at the Eugene McDermott Pain Clinic at
the UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she evaluated patients for
complex pain syndromes performed various interventions including
spinal cord stimulators and was part of an interdisciplinary pain team.
She has also been performing acupuncture for various pain syndrome
since 2000. She has several publications and has been a speaker at
national conferences.
